We are currently seeking a reliable and service-oriented Greenskeeper II to join our Golf Course Maintenance (GCM) team. Reporting to the Superintendent of GCM, this non-exempt position is essential in preserving the pristine condition of the golf course and its surrounding landscapes. The Greenskeeper II plays a vital role in daily maintenance tasks that ensure the golf course remains playable, attractive, and healthy throughout the year. This includes performing manual labor, operating various types of maintenance equipment, and executing a variety of turf care practices.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions and takes pride in contributing to the upkeep of a high-quality golf facility. Responsibilities include daily golf course setup like changing hole locations and preparing tee boxes while balancing course health, pace of play, and member satisfaction. The Greenskeeper II will assist with maintaining optimal putting green conditions by applying cultural practices such as topdressing, plugging, hand watering, mowing, and rolling.
Operational duties require the safe handling of heavy machinery, including loaders, dump trucks, skid steers, backhoes, and tractors, as well as smaller equipment like riding mowers and handheld tools such as string trimmers, edgers, blowers, and chainsaws. The role also involves careful application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides under supervision, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines.
Beyond standard turf care, the Greenskeeper II participates in course improvement projects such as aerification, irrigation repairs, drainage enhancements, and construction-related maintenance projects. Maintaining the clubhouse grounds through general landscaping tasks such as mowing, pruning, planting, and debris removal is also a key duty. The position includes responsibility for maintaining on-course amenities including restrooms, water coolers, and trash removal to enhance the overall member experience.
This role demands someone with strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to work varied shifts including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime during peak seasons are crucial. This position offers competitive pay based on experience, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance eligibility, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, employee meals, uniforms, and the unique opportunity to work in a premier private club environment dedicated to excellence in golf course management.
