Job Description

Twin Cities R!SE is a dedicated nonprofit 501(c)3 organization committed to transforming the lives of individuals affected by racial and socio-economic barriers through personal empowerment, career training, and meaningful employment opportunities. Founded on a vision of creating a community where all individuals, particularly people of color, achieve financial independence through successful employment, Twin Cities R!SE offers an impactful environment for positive change and empowerment. The organization’s programs are crafted to equip participants with essential skills and resources that enable sustainable career growth and income advancement. They offer 8-week career training programs focused on individual development, personal empowerment, career training, and mastering 21st-century skills highly valued by today’s employers. Graduates of these programs typically experience significant income growth, often doubling or tripling their previous earnings. Twin Cities R!SE takes pride in providing continued coaching services throughout the first year of employment, which has resulted in over 70% of graduates maintaining employment for more than one year, outperforming the average in the general workforce. Additionally, the organization’s Personal Empowerment Training curriculum, designed in collaboration with The Empowerment Institute, emphasizes transformative emotional intelligence training. This curriculum not only benefits the program participants but also extends its impact through partnerships with businesses, schools, universities, and nonprofits to cultivate empowered organizational cultures.

The Grants Manager role at Twin Cities R!SE is a key position within the development team based in Minneapolis. This full-time hybrid role reports directly to the Director of Development and is classified as exempt under the FLSA. The Grants Manager plays a vital part in advancing the organization’s fundraising efforts through strategic grant management, proposal development, and fostering relationships with corporate, foundation, and government funders. The position involves creating and managing an annual fundraising plan aligned with organizational priorities, researching funding opportunities, writing compelling grant applications and letters of inquiry, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. Utilizing Salesforce for tracking and reporting funder interactions and grant activity is also critical to this position. The Grants Manager will also collaborate with various internal teams, such as finance, program, development, marketing, and events, to align grant strategies with overall fundraising goals and organizational objectives. Though there are no immediate plans for federal grant pursuits, the role will engage leadership in assessing potential future federal funding opportunities. Compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 annually, dependent on qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid life and long-term disability insurance, health savings accounts and flexible spending accounts, retirement plans with employer match, telemedicine services, employee assistance programs, and generous paid time off and holidays.
