Job Description
This employment opportunity is with a resort-style establishment that offers a luxurious outdoor poolside experience. Known for its exceptional hospitality and high standards, this company prioritizes guest satisfaction by delivering top-notch food and beverage services in a picturesque and relaxed pool environment. Guests at this resort enjoy lounging by the pool with attentive service that enhances their visit, making it enjoyable, refreshing, and memorable. The setting combines comfort with elegance, emphasizing a safe and positive guest atmosphere. The position is full-time, particularly busy during peak pool seasons, weekends, and holidays, and offers competitive compensation reflective of the responsibilities and skillset required.
The Pool Server position is critical in maintaining the resort's reputation for excellence. The individual in this role is expected to deliver attentive, friendly, and efficient service to guests relaxing in the outdoor pool area. Responsibilities include taking accurate orders and promptly delivering food and beverages, including specialty cocktails and refreshing drinks, while ensuring guests’ needs and preferences are met. This role requires proactive guest engagement, where servers regularly check in without being intrusive, ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience. The Pool Server also plays a fundamental role in maintaining cleanliness and setup of the poolside service areas, including stations, lounges, tables, and cabanas. By managing these details, the Pool Server contributes to a polished environment that supports the resort’s premium standards.
In addition to service duties, sales and revenue generation are important facets of the role. The Pool Server is encouraged to upsell menu items, including food, cocktails, and specialty beverages, enhancing guests’ experiences while maximizing revenue opportunities for the resort. Handling cash and POS transactions accurately and efficiently is essential, as is closing out guest checks with attention to detail. The role demands rigorous adherence to health and safety protocols, including food safety and sanitation standards, responsible alcohol service, and pool safety awareness. The Pool Server must exercise caution around wet and potentially slippery surfaces, wearing appropriate footwear and PPE, and reporting any safety concerns immediately.
The candidate must be physically capable of working in an outdoor environment for extended periods, including standing and walking on wet surfaces and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during peak seasons is necessary. The position requires a professional appearance, positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Interpersonal skills and a guest-focused mindset are essential to ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere. This company values diversity and inclusion, offering equal employment opportunities and reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals. It is committed to fostering an environment free from discrimination and respectful of all employees and guests.
