Job Description

McMenamins Grand Lodge is part of the McMenamins family-owned company based in Oregon and Washington, renowned for its handcrafted beer, wine, cider, spirits, and coffee complemented by honest pub fare. The company emphasizes community, art, history, music, food, drink, and fun across its various locations, which include neighborhood pubs and historic hotels. McMenamins offers both seasonal and long-term career opportunities and strongly values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute to their vibrant culture. Known for its strong commitment to community engagement and historic preservation, McMenamins supports local schools, non-profits, and businesses, making their venues not just places to dine and drink, but hubs of neighborhood activity and connection. Each location brings a unique spirit and atmosphere, making McMenamins a prominent and beloved brand in the Northwest.

The Prep Cook position at McMenamins Grand Lodge focuses on the essential role of kitchen preparation and support, crucial for delivering the high-quality food experience the company is known for. The primary duties involve opening the kitchen and preparing ingredients such as slicing, chopping, and making both cold and hot sauces. The Prep Cook is responsible for proper rotation of ingredients, organizing the walk-in cooler, maintaining high standards of kitchen sanitation, and assisting with line cooking responsibilities as needed. A significant portion of this role requires physical endurance, mental agility, and the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven kitchen environment. Candidates must be able to work independently while also contributing positively as a team member. Organization and cleanliness of the work area are key expectations. This role not only demands culinary skills but also a commitment to a collaborative workplace atmosphere that reflects the company’s core values. McMenamins supports their employees with broad benefits including insurance options, a 401(K) plan with employer contributions, paid time off, and exclusive discounts on company products and services. This job offers an excellent opportunity for growth and career development within a company that values fun, community, and the preservation of regional heritage.
