Job Description

The role available is that of a team member responsible for supporting the smooth flow of service in the dining area. This position encompasses various duties ranging from guest interaction to maintaining cleanliness and assisting with food delivery and order accuracy. The primary focus is on ensuring guests receive timely and courteous service, anticipating their needs, and promptly addressing any issues that may arise. Responsibilities include welcoming guests, communicating effectively with management and kitchen staff, clearing and setting tables, assisting in to-go order management, and maintaining general cleanliness of the dining room. The candidate will actively participate in pre-shift meetings to stay informed on menu changes and service procedures, as well as aid in expedited service flow. This job demands physical stamina due to constant movement, bending, and lifting, and requires someone who can thrive in a team environment while handling multiple tasks with professionalism and efficiency.

The team member will also engage in operational aspects such as folding and rolling napkins, polishing silverware, and ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness of service machines. Experience or the ability to operate glassware washing machines and handle ice bins is advantageous. Proficiency in English—both written and spoken—is necessary as clear communication is crucial for coordinating with other team members and addressing guest needs effectively. The role also requires flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet business demands. Candidates must be at least 16 years old and demonstrate fundamental skills in reading, writing, math, problem solving, and task completion.

Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Flexible working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach overhead, bend, kneel, balance, push, pull, and lift or carry 50lbs or less frequently
  • Capable of working in a team environment
  • Basic skills in reading, math, writing, and task completion

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and ability to identify menu products
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate a glassware washing machine and to re-fill ice bins and beer bins, utilizing ice machines
  • Knowledge of the dish room, including separating silverware, dishes & glassware appropriately
  • Candidate must be able to communicate in English, both in written and oral form
  • Ability of simple reading, math, writing and task completion skills is required
  • Must have the following skills: compiling, coordination, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • Flexible working all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age

Job Duties

  • Promptly welcome all guests and ensure they receive responsive, professional, and gracious service always
  • Anticipate the guests' needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency to maintain a productive working relationship with all guests and deliver necessary items
  • Effectively communicate with management, chefs, and culinary staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and other team members
  • Clear tables after guests leave, promptly clean tabletops/seating area, thoroughly clean the booths and chairs, and take tableware to the dish room
  • Assist servers in pre-bus and busing tables
  • pre-bussing includes clearing, wiping tabletops, chairs & booths, and setting tables
  • Help set up to-go/pick up area and help deliver to-go orders to host desk to be picked up by guests
  • Refill beverages as necessary
  • Set and reset tables and side stations before, during and after service periods
  • Deliver food orders to tables
  • Ensure all machines are cleaned properly
  • Fold/roll napkins when needed and keep silverware polished
  • Reset tables in a timely and efficient manner
  • Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and learn new menu items
  • Assist the kitchen in expediting the service process to maintain the flow of service
  • Maintain general cleanliness in dining room during service periods
  • Responsible for taking, compiling and delivering and putting away warehouse orders
  • Any other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
