The Athletics Department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Facilities and Events Graduate Assistant to join their team in a vital support role. This position is ideal for graduate students who are motivated to gain practical experience in athletic operations while pursuing advanced degrees. Working under the guidance of the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Events, the Graduate Assistant will play an essential role in managing various aspects of athletic event operations and facility management. Responsibilities include assisting in game management, coordinating the setup and breakdown of athletic facilities, collaborating with both on-campus and off-campus stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. This role demands a highly organized, professional individual who can maintain a positive image of the university while managing the physical and logistical demands of athletic events.

This is a fixed-term Academic Term position designed to engage graduate students in meaningful work that complements their studies. The position requires a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week (50% effort) with a need for regular attendance, including nights, weekends, and extensive travel as required by athletic event schedules. The Graduate Assistantship offers a unique blend of responsibilities that contribute to the smooth operation and success of UA Little Rock athletic events, providing an excellent opportunity for students interested in sports administration, event management, or related fields. By joining the Athletics Department, the Graduate Assistant will develop valuable skills such as crowd management, customer service, compliance with athletic regulations, and effective communication with coaches, staff, and external partners.

Candidates must be regularly admitted to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or be in good standing with the Graduate School if continuing their graduate studies. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. The university values individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, and the physical ability to perform the tasks associated with event and facilities management. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is expected, along with a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a good driving record. The role offers a salary that is commensurate with education and experience but does not include a work-study option or additional sponsorship. This Graduate Assistantship is not eligible for benefits.

  • Must have a good driving record, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, staff and clients

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of facilities
  • Assist in event set ups and breakdowns
  • Support game day operations for all home athletic events
  • Support crowd management, event flow, and customer service during athletic events
  • Compliance with all NCAA, conference and institutional rules
  • Perform other duties as assigned
