Job Description

Silver Diner Development LLC is a recognized leader in the casual dining restaurant segment, known for its fresh, local, and healthy menu options that blend the appeal of tablecloth restaurants with the convenience of fast food. With a commitment to sourcing ingredients from over 15 local farms that use organic and sustainable farming practices, Silver Diner offers a dining experience that is both fresh and community-focused. The company values diversity and has been recognized as one of the Washington Post's 'Most Diverse Places to Work.' Additionally, it was named one of Full Service Restaurant Magazine's '20 Full Service Restaurants to Watch' and earned the 2020 TDn2K Best Practices Award in the Family Dining category. These accolades underscore Silver Diner's commitment to quality, innovation, and inclusive workplace culture.

At Silver Diner, the core belief is that "People Are Our Most Precious Resource." The company fosters a culture that puts people first, encouraging employees to thrive both professionally and personally. This culture is reflected in the company's impressive record for internal promotions, with more than 60% of managers and all General Managers and Area Directors having advanced from within the company. Silver Diner offers more than just a job; it provides a clear career path for individuals passionate about hospitality and culinary arts.

The role being offered is that of a GOTO—a key position acting as the vital link between the kitchen and the front of the house. This role involves finishing dishes with garnishes and sauces, assembling orders, and ensuring that every plate served to guests meets the company’s high standards for quality and presentation. It is an excellent opportunity for those looking to build a career in the culinary field, as the position provides invaluable experience working with a dynamic team of cooks and servers in a fast-paced environment. Employees in this role will expand their knowledge on flavor profiles, worldwide food trends, and teamwork that ensures an exceptional dining experience for patrons.

Candidates should be warm, energetic, and contagiously friendly, fitting into the Silver Diner family that values hospitality deeply. The company requires weekend and holiday availability due to its operational demands. While restaurant experience is preferred, it is not strictly required. Communication skills in English and Spanish are viewed as advantageous but not mandatory.

Silver Diner offers excellent benefits to support its employees’ well-being and growth, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K retirement plan, and an Employee Assistance Program. In addition, employees enjoy perks such as meal discounts, gym membership discounts, work shoe discounts, and more. The company strongly promotes career development opportunities, allowing staff to progress into roles such as trainers, supervisors, and managers. This culture of advancement is a testament to Silver Diner's investment in employee growth and success. By joining Silver Diner, employees become a part of one of the busiest and most respected dining establishments in America, benefiting from a supportive work environment where hard work and dedication are rewarded.
