Located in an iconic setting, the hotel blends classic charm with modern amenities, offering exquisite accommodations, fine dining, and world-class recreational facilities. The Biltmore is not only a preferred destination for travelers seeking comfort and elegance but also a vibrant hub for events, conferences, and social gatherings. The hotel operates with a strong focus on hospitality excellence, ensuring every guest receives personalized attention and superior service.
Within this esteemed establishment, the golf facility plays a significant role in enhancing the guest experience. The golf course is a well-maintained, professional-grade facility designed to cater to both casual players and serious golf enthusiasts. The golf shop is an integral part of the operation, offering merchandise, equipment, and personalized support to guests and members alike. Operating with a dedicated team, the golf facility emphasizes creating an inviting atmosphere that promotes enjoyment, learning, and social interaction among guests.
The role of Assistant Golf Shop Manager at The Biltmore Hotel is a critical position tasked with assisting in the overall operation of the golf facility, with a particular focus on supervising the golf shop staff. This position reports directly to the Head Golf Professional and plays a key role in maintaining the high standards expected at the Biltmore. The Assistant Golf Shop Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, assisting new golf members, and collaborating with the membership department and tournament operations.
Key duties include promoting the highest levels of customer service, managing the golf shop environment to keep it clean and organized, supporting merchandise sales, and helping with inventory management. Furthermore, this position supports tournament operations and group outings, ensuring seamless events that contribute to guest satisfaction. Another important responsibility is training new staff members in adherence to the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP's) to maintain consistency and quality in service delivery.
The role also involves working closely with other hotel departments to communicate pertinent information effectively, assisting with the Junior Golf Program, and supporting member functions and golf events. Understanding the operating budget and contributing to meeting department goals are crucial aspects of the job, emphasizing fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency. The position is dynamic and requires the ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment while maintaining a calm, composed, and professional demeanor.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma as a minimum requirement, with a bachelor’s degree and enrollment in the PGA of America program preferred. Experience in guest service and strong computer skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team. The Assistant Golf Shop Manager must possess excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate integrity, and show a genuine passion for golf and customer service. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual seeking to advance their career in golf management within a luxury hospitality setting, where dedication, teamwork, and a guest-focused attitude are highly valued.
