Managed under the city government of Sevierville, this golf club serves as a vital recreational and social hub for residents and visitors alike, blending outdoor sporting experiences with event hosting capabilities. As a municipal operation, the club emphasizes inclusivity and community engagement, providing activities and venues that support local tourism, business, and recreational needs. The City of Sevierville ensures a drug-free workplace and adheres to equal opportunity employment practices, maintaining a respectful and professional environment for all employees and patrons.
The role available at Sevierville Golf Club is that of an Events Coordinator, a full-time position with an annual salary ranging from $52,663 to $58,061. This role is critical in orchestrating the smooth execution of golf and non-golf events across all club venues. Reporting directly to the Head Golf Professional and Assistant Director of Golf, the Events Coordinator is responsible for promoting and managing a variety of events such as golf tournaments, private and corporate events, social gatherings, and venue rentals. This position requires a dynamic individual who excels in customer relations, event planning, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure a superior guest experience.
The Events Coordinator’s duties include engaging with a diverse clientele from initial contact through event conclusion and billing, coordinating closely with departments such as Golf Operations, Food and Beverage, Outside Services, and Maintenance. The role demands meticulous attention to detail in managing event logistics including scheduling, menu planning, venue setup, staffing considerations, and billing processes. The coordinator also supports marketing efforts through building professional relationships with local businesses, tourism partners, and community organizations to maximize venue usage and event participation. Flexibility in work hours is necessary, as the position involves working evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet event demands.
Candidates for this position should bring a blend of formal education and practical experience relevant to business administration, hospitality, marketing, or sport and recreation management. The City of Sevierville values candidates who possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license and who can obtain a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Serving Permit within the first 60 days of employment. Previous experience in golf operations, tournament management, event scheduling, food and beverage coordination, and customer service is preferred. The club offers comprehensive benefits to full-time employees, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave accrual, as well as retirement plan enrollment under the TN Consolidated Retirement System.
This position not only demands strong organizational and interpersonal skills but also the ability to multitask and manage multiple events concurrently in a dynamic environment. The Events Coordinator plays a central role in enhancing the reputation and operational success of Sevierville Golf Club by ensuring that every event runs seamlessly and that guests leave with a positive, memorable experience. Continuous professional development is encouraged through attendance at relevant training and industry seminars, further enabling the coordinator to stay current with best practices in event and golf management.
