As a Golf Course Associate, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks that keep the golf course running smoothly on a daily basis. Your duties will include welcoming and assisting golfers at arrival points, managing golf bags, performing check-ins using a computerized point-of-sale system, handling cash transactions, and balancing registers. You will also monitor play on the course to ensure adherence to pace and rules, maintain the cleanliness and safety of the course by handling trash and picking up litter, and assist in the upkeep of golf carts and equipment. In addition, you will manage the driving range by retrieving and washing balls, ensuring the area is orderly and conducive to a great golfing experience.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, residents, and the general public
  • Ability to operate a computer, electronic point-of-sale (POS) system, telephone, and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to operate a golf cart, driving range picker unit, and utility vehicles
  • Physical ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Physical ability to push drums or equipment up to 150 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, humidity, dust, and loud noise
  • Ability to stoop, stand, sit for extended periods
  • Ability to walk the full length of a golf course
  • Must pass a 10-panel drug test prior to employment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
  • Prior experience in golf course operations, including starter, ranger, or pro-shop roles
  • Familiarity with golf rules, etiquette, and course management practices
  • Previous cash handling or point-of-sale system experience in a customer-facing environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by golf course operations
  • Strong customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Greet golfers upon arrival, assist with golf bags at the staging area or bag drop, and ensure a welcoming first impression for all visitors
  • Check in golfers and collect appropriate fees using a computerized point-of-sale (POS) system, and balance the cash register at the end of each shift
  • Book tee times and golf lessons both in person and over the phone, and communicate registration information for clinics and programs to the public and golf professionals
  • Ranger the golf course to ensure proper play, monitor pace of play, collect litter, and empty trash containers throughout the course
  • Maintain, clean, and stage golf carts in a professional manner
  • perform light maintenance on riding and pull carts as needed
  • Pick the driving range and wash range balls
  • manage the range area to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for guests
  • Perform custodial and light maintenance duties to keep the clubhouse, work areas, and immediate grounds neat, clean, and orderly
  • Provide accurate course information to the public regarding events, programs, rules, regulations, and current course conditions in a courteous and professional manner
