The position of Restaurant General Manager at Goldfinch Tavern is a full-time role that calls for a leader who is passionate about delivering an exceptional dining experience. This role reports to the Director of Food and Beverage and entails managing all aspects of restaurant operations, from staff leadership and training to ensuring quality service and operational efficiency. The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for cultivating a team culture that aligns with Four Seasons standards, overseeing daily outlet operations, and maintaining high standards for food, beverage, and guest relations. Candidates must have U.S. work authorization to be considered.

Key responsibilities include selecting, coaching, and motivating staff to uphold core standards, maintaining visibility in the operation to provide recognition and address guest concerns, and ensuring the highest quality of food and beverage offerings including expert knowledge in wine and spirits. The role also involves strategic control over labor and operational expenses, ensuring effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and cash management. Collaboration across departments and upkeep of the restaurant’s facilities and equipment are essential to guarantee smooth, high-quality service delivery. Job Requirements

  • U.S. work authorization
  • bachelor’s degree in hotel or restaurant management
  • minimum two years experience as a Restaurant General Manager in a full service or luxury hotel environment
  • strong leadership and team development skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in hotel or restaurant management
  • two years of Restaurant General Manager leadership experience in a full service restaurant or luxury hotel environment
  • experience in leading a team and developing management staff
  • knowledge of food and beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting
  • ability to operate food and beverage computer systems including MICROS, Microsoft Office, OpenTable, labor management, and payroll systems
  • positive attitude with a generous and uplifting team approach
  • ability to anticipate and prioritize guest needs
  • energetic and professional approach to hospitality

Job Duties

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, oversee, and discipline all employees in Goldfinch Tavern
  • manage daily responsibilities and planning for outlet operation
  • provide visible leadership and promote good public relations
  • handle complaints, concerns, or special guest requests
  • ensure the quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods
  • provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits
  • control labor and operating expenses through scheduling, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, and cash control
  • attend regular operational meetings for effective coordination between departments
  • inspect physical condition of facilities and equipment and recommend improvements
  • comply with Four Seasons’ work rules and standards of conduct
  • work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
