As the first resort located on Fremont Street, Golden Gate provides guests with a dynamic entertainment experience, combining top-tier gaming options, exceptional dining venues, and an engaging nightlife scene. The company is committed to offering superior customer service and creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through its doors.
The hotel’s Beverage Department, particularly the Prohibition Bar, is a lively and essential part of this entertainment hub. The department prides itself on delivering a high standard of service, ensuring guests enjoy a welcoming and enjoyable environment throughout their visit. The role of Apprentice Bartender/Barback is crucial to maintaining the smooth operation of the bar area and enhancing the overall guest experience.
This full-time, hourly position involves supporting bartenders by ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available at all times. The Apprentice Bartender/Barback will assist with restocking garnishes, napkins, straws, ice, liquor, wine, and beer, as well as helping open and close the bar. The role requires effective communication skills to meet the immediate needs of guests and fellow team members. This includes taking drink orders, preparing and serving beverages during peak hours, bussing tables, managing tabs, and processing payments with accuracy while maintaining a friendly and engaging demeanor.
Candidates must adhere strictly to responsible alcohol service policies, including the ability to intervene when guests have consumed too much alcohol. Additionally, the position involves monitoring inventory levels, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with the reordering process to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate must be physically capable of performing duties such as standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and working in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment with second-hand smoke.
Golden Gate Hotel & Casino seeks motivated individuals who are at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, and are capable of obtaining required work cards. Flexibility with work hours, including weekends and holidays, is essential.
