Job Description
The Broadmoor is a prestigious and iconic luxury resort located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, renowned for its exceptional hospitality and unparalleled guest experiences. As the longest running Five-Star, Five-Diamond resort in the world, The Broadmoor embodies a legacy of excellence and sophistication in the hospitality industry. This establishment offers a unique blend of luxury accommodations, fine dining, and recreational activities, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Dedicated to maintaining its outstanding reputation, The Broadmoor fosters a culture centered on family, community, and a commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences to every guest. Employees here are not just workers; they are Ambassadors representing the renowned Broadmoor brand and its commitment to Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five Diamond Standards. Working at The Broadmoor means being part of an elite team that exemplifies professionalism, world-class service, and a genuine passion for hospitality.
The role of Bartender at The Broadmoor's Golden Bee is integral to delivering exceptional service within their distinguished dining and social venues. This position offers an inclusive hourly pay rate ranging from $23.00 to $32.00 per hour, which is comprised of a base wage of $6.50 per hour plus service charge commission paid per shift. Historically, bartenders in this position earn an additional $17.00 to $26.00 per hour through service charge commissions, although these figures may vary depending on events and the time of year. Importantly, this role guarantees a minimum wage not less than Colorado's current minimum wage of $15.16 per hour, ensuring fair remuneration.
In this dynamic bartender role, individuals will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the menu and expertly mixing beverages, including cocktails, wine, bottled or draft beer, and other drinks. Serving food efficiently from the kitchen to guests, coordinating with serving staff and kitchen personnel, and ensuring order accuracy are key responsibilities. Bartenders will also interact directly with chefs and expeditors to synchronize service timing and must be knowledgeable about the food preparation and products to answer guest inquiries confidently.
Additional duties include pre-bussing, clearing tables, replenishing supplies such as linens, silverware, and glassware, and assisting servers and kitchen staff as required. The role demands a courteous, professional attitude, flexibility to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment, and adherence to all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. This position may involve occasional heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds and work that can take place both indoors and outdoors. The bartender also plays a role in maintaining the established standards for tip reporting and must embody the brand's history and values.
The Broadmoor seeks enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team members who thrive in collaborative settings and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to comply with state liquor laws. Additionally, an openness to varying schedules, a high school diploma or GED, and experience within the food and beverage industry are required. The Broadmoor values team members willing to learn, grow, and contribute to a world-class service environment, offering comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities to support their professional journey.
