Established in 1909, ABM has grown to serve over 20,000 clients worldwide, boasting annual revenues nearing $8 billion and employing more than 100,000 team members. With operations spanning over 350 offices across the United States, United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, the company offers a comprehensive array of services including janitorial, engineering, parking, electrical and lighting, energy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical, landscape and turf, and mission critical solutions. ABM caters to a broad range of industries such as commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues. This vast reach and diverse industry engagement underscore ABM’s leadership in the facility services sector and its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
The Lead role at ABM is a critical position responsible for ensuring that all facility operations adhere strictly to established policies and procedures. This role requires a reliable and experienced individual capable of coordinating daily operations through effective delegation and guidance. Acting as a Shift Leader, the successful candidate supervises operations at an assigned location in the absence of the Manager, ensuring the facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for both workers and customers. This includes operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals safely, and supporting general janitorial duties when necessary. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $21.00, indicative of the responsibility and expertise required. The work schedule is designed to provide coverage during key operational hours from Tuesday through Sunday, specifically Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2pm to 5pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 6am to 2:30pm.
In this leadership capacity, the Lead is tasked with a variety of duties such as providing leadership and direction to team members, maintaining open lines of communication between field employees and management, assisting with scheduling, overseeing and performing cleaning operations, and managing keys and access cards for the property. Additionally, the Lead is responsible for reporting any damaged or non-operational items, quality control by confirming job completion with an Area Manager, and onboarding new hires by providing appropriate training. Weekly checks of supplies, equipment, and chemicals are also part of the role, alongside miscellaneous duties as assigned to support smooth facility operations.
ABM values its workforce and offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees, further reinforcing its commitment to employee well-being and satisfaction. The company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, promoting diversity and inclusion across all levels. It accommodates individuals with disabilities by providing reasonable accommodations in the hiring process and workplace. ABM also participates in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s E-Verify program to confirm employment eligibility and prides itself on being a military-friendly employer, offering career opportunities and training programs tailored to veterans. This Lead position is an excellent opportunity for candidates with supervisory experience and a dedication to facility management excellence to join a globally recognized company with a strong presence and mission-driven focus.
