The General Merchandise Expert role within Target plays a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing the in-store experience for guests by ensuring that products are well-stocked, accurately priced, and merchandised efficiently. This position is part of the General Merchandise and Food Sales team, which is responsible for managing the inbound and outbound flow of merchandise, conducting inventory accuracy checks, setting up merchandise displays, and supporting digital fulfillment processes such as picking and packing online orders. This job requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow multi-step processes effectively. Each day offers dynamic and varied tasks, including greeting guests, assisting with purchases, organizing stock rooms, and executing promotions, all while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The role demands physical stamina as it involves climbing ladders and moving merchandise, sometimes weighing up to 44 pounds. It offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments and are passionate about delivering exceptional service. In addition to contributing directly to the store's sales goals, General Merchandise Experts gain valuable retail experience that supports career advancement within Target or the broader retail industry.
