The role of Global Sales Manager at Hyatt presents an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Sales Force Meetings & Events team, specifically focusing on the DC/MD/VA market. This fully remote, strategic sales position requires a self-motivated and team-oriented individual who thrives in managing complex sales strategies and building strong relationships with key decision-makers. As part of this role, the manager will collaborate closely with various internal teams such as marketing, operations, and finance, and act as an essential liaison between customers and hotel colleagues, ensuring a seamless sales process and exceptional customer service. With a salary range of $90,000 to $100,000, along with the possibility of incentive awards, bonuses, and other rewards, this role offers both financial and professional growth.

This position demands exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills and a keen understanding of contract processes in the hospitality industry. The Global Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that maximize revenue and profitability while closely monitoring industry trends and competitor activity. The role also includes a significant level of autonomy, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding market including flexibility for off-peak hours and potential travel. The ideal candidate will also be proficient in various tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms like Lanyon and CVENT, and reporting software including Cognos and Tableau.

Job Requirements

  • Must be located in the Eastern time zone of the United States
  • Must be able to work remotely and independently
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced and very demanding market, including off-peak hours and days as required
  • Must have the ability to get creative with customer engagement opportunities
  • Must be very strategic when working with accounts
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to meet with clients and collaborate with hotel teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in hotel sales
  • Proven track record in sales, consistently exceeding targets and increasing revenue within the hospitality industry
  • Strong knowledge of contract processes
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • 4-year college degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Solid written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
  • Proficient in Lanyon, CVENT & Envision (or similar CRM tool)
  • Experience with Cognos, Tableau, Reserve, and Oracle
  • Experience in hotel sales focused on the DC/MD/VA market is a bonus

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement sales strategies that drive revenue growth for the companys DC/MD/VA market accounts in the hospitality industry
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure the successful execution of sales strategies
  • Serve as a key liaison between the corporate office and local hotel leaders
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitor activity, and market intelligence to inform sales strategies and tactics
  • Assist in negotiating contracts, providing support to both the hotel colleagues and customers
  • Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to senior management
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by working closely with hotel teams to deliver exceptional service to assigned accounts
  • Monitor and manage the sales pipeline, forecast sales results, and report on sales performance to senior management
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows
