Freshfields is a globally recognized law firm known for providing business law advice of the highest caliber. Established with a commitment to excellence, Freshfields serves national and multinational corporations, financial institutions, and governments through a widespread network of over 2,800 lawyers operating across 28 offices worldwide. The firm prides itself on its global presence and integrated approach, seeking to be the trusted legal advisor clients turn to for critical issues regardless of geography. Beyond legal expertise, Freshfields emphasizes a people-centered culture where diversity, teamwork, and mutual support drive exceptional results. This culture fosters innovative ideas and fresh perspectives, contributing to the firm’s reputation and success in cross-border legal matters. Collaboration is fundamental at Freshfields, enabling the firm to deliver comprehensive services that bridge different legal systems, languages, and cultural environments, with a focus on adding client value and supporting community impact.

The Marketing & Business Development (MBD) team at Freshfields is a dynamic unit comprising business development specialists, research analysts, marketing, communications, and brand experts. This team works collaboratively to shape the firm’s client strategy, conduct complex business analysis, target new opportunities, and create compelling proposals and marketing campaigns that enhance the firm’s global digital presence. Located in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley area, the Senior Event Manager will not only facilitate events in these local offices but also support events across the United States and contribute to global initiatives. The position requires a combination of strategic thinking and operational excellence, with responsibilities extending beyond event execution to include contributing to global event frameworks, governance, and innovation efforts that enable scalability, consistency, and measurable impact.

Freshfields seeks candidates with extensive experience managing complex, high-profile event programs within professional services or corporate settings, with proven skills in stakeholder engagement, strategic event planning, budget management, and vendor negotiation. The ideal candidate will bring advanced knowledge of event technology and a proactive approach to leadership and continuous improvement, helping drive innovation in event formats and processes. In addition to managing events that elevate Freshfields’ brand and support revenue objectives, the Senior Event Manager will foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture and champion best practices in event management.

This role offers an annual salary range of $150,000 to $205,000 for positions based in New York or California, reflecting factors such as skills, experience, certifications, and organizational needs. Freshfields is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive environment, promoting equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, gender identity, or any other legally protected status. The firm also provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities during the recruitment process, ensuring accessibility and support for all candidates.
