This role is for an Events & Content Operations Lead based in Houston, TX. The position is classified as an employee role with a hybrid work environment, primarily onshore. This strategic, high-energy leadership opportunity focuses on elevating and managing an end-to-end event ecosystem within the company. The successful candidate will have a significant impact, overseeing the planning and execution of high-profile external corporate events, trade shows, and specialized internal executive functions. These events not only serve as critical platforms for branding and client engagement but also promote industry thought leadership and innovation.

Beyond event management, this role champions the operational infrastructure that supports events, including digital and physical demonstration spaces, corporate theaters, speaker bureau management, and publications management systems. The position requires a candidate with a strong background in the oil and gas industry, proven project management skills, and a passion for scaling event departments into world-class operations. This person will also manage relationships with external creative and production agencies, procurement processes, budgeting, and the optimization of workflows through cutting-edge project management tools such as Adobe Workfront.

The Events & Content Operations Lead will be responsible for modernizing the department by establishing standardized processes, ROI frameworks, and innovative event formats that drive measurable business outcomes. By managing day-to-day operations of demo spaces and speaker bureaus, the role ensures seamless coordination and delivery of event-related resources and messaging. Additionally, the role significantly contributes to operational excellence by overseeing vendor compliance, contract negotiations, and budget management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years managing corporate events in the oil and gas or energy sector
  • Strong project management skills with experience handling complex, multi-phase projects
  • Experience managing agency relationships and media deliverables
  • Knowledge of corporate procurement processes and vendor management
  • Proficiency with project management and content management software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work environment based in Houston, TX

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing corporate events within the oil and gas or energy sector
  • Proven ability to manage multi-phase projects and cross-functional stakeholder engagements
  • Demonstrated success leading agencies to deliver physical assets and digital media
  • Solid understanding of corporate procurement, vendor compliance, and statement of work processes
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Workfront or similar project management software, Seismic for content management, PowerBi for dashboards, and DAM for content storage
  • Professional certifications such as CMP, CSEP, or PMP are highly desirable

Job Duties

  • Plan, execute, and scale high-profile external corporate events, trade shows, and specialized internal executive events
  • Modernize and elevate the event department by establishing standardized playbooks, ROI frameworks, and innovative event formats
  • Manage day-to-day operations, scheduling, and technology integration for physical and digital demonstration spaces and corporate theaters
  • Oversee the company internal speaker bureau, vetting engagements, aligning executives with strategic topics, and managing the overall speaker calendar
  • Maintain and optimize the corporate publications management system to ensure compliance and tracking of event literature and technical papers
  • Lead and collaborate with external creative and production agencies to deliver physical and digital media
  • Navigate corporate procurement processes including RFP issuance, contract negotiations, vendor onboarding, and budget oversight
  • Utilize project management platforms like Adobe Workfront to streamline event intake, resource allocation, and team workflows
