As one of the largest companies in the world, Amazon operates across various sectors including retail, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. Their Protective Services Global Event team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, security, and privacy of individuals and assets during company events worldwide. Amazon is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where employees are empowered to do their best work and deliver top-tier results for customers worldwide.
The Protective Services Global Event team focuses on delivering security support to events and executives on a global scale. This role is integral in protecting customers, vendors, and associates while ensuring business continuity during company events. This position demands a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and mobile professional who can partner effectively with various Amazon teams across the globe. The role necessitates extensive domestic and international travel, reflecting Amazon's broad operational footprint.
In this position, the successful candidate will develop and manage customized security plans tailored to events around the world. Responsibilities include designing security strategies for VIPs at specialized and sensitive events, conducting pre-event site assessments, and managing security personnel from proprietary, contract, law enforcement, and medical backgrounds. Additionally, the role involves providing security briefings to a range of stakeholders including senior leadership, preparing and managing event security operating budgets, and supporting internal departments such as event management, marketing, and public relations while maintaining strict security standards.
The role requires close collaboration with senior-level internal partners and serving as the security representative during event planning meetings. There is an emphasis on mentorship and the structured development of team members through education and training programs. Beyond direct event security, the role supports other Protective Services teams and various business units as needed. It also involves partnering with business teams to develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs), establish strategic roadmaps, and complete comprehensive security-related projects such as drafting reports and conducting location assessments.
This position offers a competitive salary range depending on location and experience, ranging approximately from $72,900 to $127,500 annually. Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision insurance, life insurance options, employee assistance programs, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave. As a forward-thinking employer, Amazon also promotes accommodations for employees with disabilities and embraces applicants from diverse backgrounds, including those with arrest or conviction records as per the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance.
The role is ideal for individuals with robust experience in incident management, threat management, crisis management, corporate investigations, and security operations, who thrive in a 24x7 operational environment. Those with a background in security within global corporate environments or similarly complex organizations will find this opportunity especially fitting. The job also demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work non-traditional schedules including nights and weekends, and expertise in managing travel and operational logistics for global events.
