Job Description
The University of Oregon is a prestigious public research university located in Eugene, Oregon, known for its commitment to academic excellence and fostering global engagement. The university's Division of Global Engagement (DGE) plays a vital role in promoting the institution's international mission, integrating global perspectives across all colleges, schools, and departments. DGE supports a broad array of international activities, including research collaborations, faculty exchanges, student programs, and global initiatives that enhance the university's stature as a leader in international education and partnerships. The division consists of units such as International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), Global Education Oregon (GEO), and the Global Studies Institute (GSI), each contributing uniquely to UO's comprehensive approach to global engagement.
The Global Engagement Programs Coordinator position is a key role within the Division of Global Engagement. This full-time, regular, and ongoing appointment offers a competitive salary range of $43,500 to $51,000 annually, aligning with the OS-OA05 Fiscal Year 2025-2026 compensation band. The coordinator works closely with DGE leadership and other team members to develop, coordinate, and implement interdisciplinary, revenue-generating global programs that advance the university's international priorities. The role emphasizes collaboration across multiple units to design programs that enhance UO's research profile, support faculty international activities, and provide students with international curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, and cross-cultural engagement.
The coordinator is responsible for managing existing programs while innovating new initiatives that generate revenue through grants, gifts, contracts, fee-based training, and other funding sources. Additionally, this role provides vital research, advisory services, and administrative support to senior leadership including the Assistant Vice Provost, Dean, and Vice Provost. The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability and entrepreneurial problem-solving skills, thriving in a fast-paced academic environment that values diversity, inclusion, and global perspectives. This position requires excellent organizational talents, communication abilities, and a deep commitment to fostering international understanding and engagement on campus. The University of Oregon also offers a strong benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, supporting the well-being and professional growth of its employees.
Overall, the Global Engagement Programs Coordinator serves as a strategic partner in advancing UO's vision of becoming a more globally connected and culturally vibrant academic community. This role is essential for building innovative international education programs that enrich the academic experience for faculty, staff, and students alike, reinforcing the university’s dedication to global engagement as a core mission in higher education.
