Job Description
Morgan Advanced Materials is a global leader in engineered materials, specializing in the design and manufacture of high-performance ceramics, composites, and other advanced materials. With a history spanning over 150 years, the company is known for innovation, quality, and collaboration with leading industries worldwide. Their expertise serves critical applications in aerospace, automotive, healthcare, electronics, and energy sectors, delivering solutions that enhance performance, safety, and sustainability. Morgan Advanced Materials operates internationally, with facilities, research centers, and sales teams across the globe, driving forward technological advancements and setting high standards in the materials industry.
The Global Commercial Manager role is a key leadership position within Morgan Advanced Materials, focused on the ceramic cores business that plays a vital role in aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. These ceramic cores enable engines to operate at higher temperatures and longer durations, thereby improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact. This position is offered as a regular permanent full-time role based remotely in the USA, with a preference for candidates based in Pennsylvania or Ohio, and involves significant international travel. Salary ranges between $150,000 and $180,000 per year, plus a 30% bonus opportunity.
This role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands-on sales execution on a global scale. The Global Commercial Manager will define and implement the commercial strategy, develop pricing policies, negotiate contracts, and foster strong, lasting relationships with key customers worldwide. The role demands a highly technical and commercial mindset, blending deep knowledge of B2B sales within engineering or material science sectors with strategic leadership capabilities. Approximately half the time will be spent traveling in North America and Europe to engage with customers and participate in technical and operational meetings, requiring flexibility and comfort in diverse environments—from boardrooms to production facilities.
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Global Commercial Manager will lead the worldwide sales efforts for the ceramic cores business, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth. Success in this position depends on strong collaboration with regional sales teams and a proactive approach to market challenges and opportunities. The candidate will have substantial experience managing international teams and sales profit and loss responsibilities, supported by a track record of delivering business growth in complex, multicultural, and fast-paced environments.
The position offers a unique opportunity to influence a niche but critical technology within a prestigious and growing industrial materials company. Morgan Advanced Materials supports its commercial team with robust resources and the opportunity to work within an international, technologically advanced team dedicated to excellence and integrity. The role requires a dynamic and adaptable leader with a strategic outlook, resilience in travel-heavy logistics, and the ability to build meaningful customer partnerships across various geographies and cultural contexts.
