Job Description

The Girl Scouts is a pioneering organization dedicated to building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. With a rich history rooted in empowering young girls across the globe, Girl Scouts provides a safe and supportive community that fosters leadership, personal growth, and community engagement. This particular council focuses on delivering programs that align with national guidelines and uphold a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The organization prioritizes safety and security across all its activities while encouraging girls to explore new opportunities and develop lifelong skills.

The Girl Experience Manager for Younger Girls is a pivotal role within this organization, responsible for creating and coordinating engaging programs and events specifically tailored for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts. This position requires a creative and innovative professional who can design programs that authentically incorporate the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, ensuring that each activity supports the developmental needs and interests of girls at these levels. As a safety-sensitive position, the manager must rigorously follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being of all participants.

Beyond program creation, the role involves extensive event planning responsibilities that include managing vendors, developing and overseeing budgets, orchestrating event agendas, and recruiting dedicated volunteers. The manager also handles grant management duties to ensure financial compliance and the effective use of resources. Promoting and fostering strong community partnerships forms an important part of the role, requiring the individual to build relationships with community leaders and experts to deliver innovative programs that meet girls' needs and align with national standards.

The manager actively supports the council’s membership and retention objectives by developing quality programs, resources, and events that resonate with existing and potential girl members and troop leaders. This requires maintaining current knowledge of national and local trends, adhering to Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) initiatives, and using council and GSUSA data to inform program development and delivery strategies. They also take responsibility for collecting and analyzing survey responses to improve program offerings continually.

Marketing and communication efforts are integral to this position, involving the coordinated promotion of programs and events through various channels, including social media, flyers, the council website, and service unit visits. This outreach ensures that events are accessible and welcoming to all girls and volunteers, thereby advancing the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. The manager also leads volunteer management and training efforts to guarantee high-quality program delivery and support the community effectively. Overall, this role serves as a bridge between the council and its community, fostering enriching experiences that empower girls through leadership and service.
