Job Description

SCHEELS is a prominent leader in the sporting goods industry, widely recognized across the United States for providing an unparalleled shopping experience that combines a vast array of world-class sports brands with exceptional customer service. As a family-owned and operated company, SCHEELS has cultivated a culture where passion for sports, fitness, fashion, and the outdoors is seamlessly translated into rewarding career opportunities for its associates. With multiple store locations nationwide, SCHEELS continues to expand its reach while maintaining a strong commitment to its core values of respect, teamwork, and professional development. The company prides itself not only on its extensive product selection but also on unique in-store attractions that enhance customer engagement, making SCHEELS a shopping destination unlike any other.

Joining SCHEELS means becoming part of a vibrant team that is empowered through extensive product training and continuous professional development. SCHEELS invests heavily in mentorship and hands-on learning, ensuring associates become experts in their roles. This particular role focuses on providing customers with exceptional service and knowledge within Ginna's Café, a key food and beverage service area inside SCHEELS stores. The position offers $14.00 per hour and requires a commitment to an every-other-weekend rotation, with schedules that may vary to include evenings, holidays, and weekends, averaging about 20 hours per week. The role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about food service, enjoy engaging with customers, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

The responsibilities of this role encompass preparing and selling a variety of fudge products, performing kitchen and café functions such as working the deli line, barista station, grill, ice cream, and baked goods, all while adhering strictly to food safety and sanitary guidelines. Associates contribute to maintaining inventory accuracy by ensuring products are received and stored properly. Additionally, they are instrumental in the training of new team members, utilizing kitchen tools and Standard Operating Guidelines to instill best practices. Cash control and till management according to company policies are critical elements, alongside managing side work and cleaning schedules to keep all workspaces orderly, clean, and professional.

SCHEELS values a work culture centered around customer service excellence—associates must genuinely treat customers and coworkers with the utmost respect and courtesy, engaging with eye contact, smiles, and positive language. The company champions a team mentality where helping others precedes personal recognition, fosters a culture of continuous learning, adaptation, and responsiveness, and expects associates to uphold a professional appearance consistent with company dress standards.

Physical requirements of the job include the ability to perform typical food service tasks involving standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally), and other physical activities necessary for a safe and efficient work environment. SCHEELS also carefully manages allergen information to ensure customer safety. The company offers its associates a comprehensive benefits package, which can be reviewed in detail on their official careers website. SCHEELS is committed to equal employment opportunity and provides reasonable accommodations to qualified candidates upon request, promoting an inclusive and respectful work environment for all. This opportunity is perfect for individuals eager to grow in a dynamic retail and food service setting where their passion can flourish into a fulfilling career.
