The role of Gift Shop Associate at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is an exciting opportunity to join the Retail Operations team on a PRN (pro re nata) basis, where your work schedule will vary, providing flexibility to accommodate different availability. This position supports the day-to-day activities of the hospital's gift shop, which plays an integral role in enhancing the patient and visitor experience by offering thoughtful merchandise and providing excellent customer service. Reporting to the Gift Shop Manager, the Gift Shop Associate will be responsible for managing daily sales activities during assigned shifts. A typical day involves welcoming customers, managing transactions accurately using cash or credit card payments, and ensuring the shop is stocked and merchandise is attractively displayed to drive sales. The associate will also be expected to stay knowledgeable about current sales promotions to inform and assist customers effectively. This requires strong attention to detail and a proactive approach toward inventory management and visual merchandising.

Flexibility is a core aspect of the position since the associate may need to travel within Northern Virginia to assist with operations at other gift shops and community stores affiliated with the campus.
