The General Utility Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring a hygienic and safe environment by maintaining cleanliness of dishes, equipment, and workspaces according to client specifications and Aramark’s standards. This role involves various tasks including cleaning and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, kitchen utensils, and equipment. The worker is responsible for keeping the dishwashing station and related areas clean and ensuring all equipment is operational, reporting any malfunctions to management promptly. Additionally, light maintenance and custodial duties will be performed as needed. A positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service are essential, as the position requires interaction with guests, co-workers, and clients.

The job demands adherence to strict safety and food sanitation policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of hazardous chemicals when necessary. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in a similar role or in food service is beneficial
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
  • must be physically capable of performing custodial and maintenance duties
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic sanitation procedures
  • must be able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazardous chemicals
  • must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, equipment, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • maintains dishwashing station, three compartment sink and related areas cleaned
  • ensures equipment is clean and in working condition
  • reports any issues to management
  • performs other light maintenance and custodial tasks
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
