The Lead General Utility Worker at Aramark plays a crucial role in guaranteeing the operational efficiency and cleanliness of both front and back of house facilities. This role typically involves overseeing maintenance duties and ensuring that work environments meet the highest standards of sanitation and safety. In this leadership position, the individual is responsible for delegating tasks to utility workers, training new and existing staff members, and ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation policies. The Lead General Utility Worker helps maintain essential kitchen and facility equipment, including dishwashing stations, refrigerators, and storerooms, and performs light custodial and maintenance activities. The focus is not only on cleanliness but also on sustaining equipment functionality, reporting any problems to management promptly, and upholding excellent customer service standards.

This role may require physical exertion, such as lifting, bending, pushing, and extended periods of walking or standing. The ability to provide a positive attitude toward guests, coworkers, and clients is essential, as is compliance with safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar utility or maintenance role
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • strong communication and leadership skills
  • ability to work flexible hours and adapt to various client needs

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in a similar role
  • ability to exercise considerable judgment based on previous experience to solve problems
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • may act as an informal resource for those with less experience
  • required to gain an extensive knowledge of the proper use and cleaning techniques for kitchen equipment including but not limited to steamers, ovens, mixers, grills, and dishwashing equipment
  • demonstrates thorough understanding of basic sanitation procedures

Job Duties

  • Train and guide utility staff on job duties and proper safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, equipment, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • maintain and clean dishwashing station, three compartment sink, storerooms, refrigerators, and related areas
  • ensure equipment is clean and in working condition
  • report any equipment issues to management
  • perform other light maintenance and custodial tasks
  • maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
  • adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
