This position reports directly to the General Manager, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly and customers are greeted warmly upon entry. The establishment operates as a general store, offering a variety of merchandise with an emphasis on delivering a memorable shopping experience often connected to the local culture, specifically known as the Memphis experience. The role requires a dynamic individual who is attentive, organized, and customer-focused to support the store's operational needs while enhancing customer satisfaction and promoting sales.

As a General Store Cashier / Stocker, you will be responsible for a diverse set of tasks that blend cash handling, stock management, customer interaction, and visual merchandising. Your duties will include greeting customers and providing them with helpful information about products and pricing, ensuring that the pricing across merchandise is accurate and clearly displayed using price stickers. You will operate the cash register or POS system to process transactions quickly and accurately, calculate total purchases, handle payments, and prepare deposits at the end of shifts. Additionally, you will assist in creating attractive window and counter displays under the guidance of the General Manager to help boost store appeal and enhance the customer shopping experience.

Beyond cashiering duties, this position involves managing stock rooms with care, ensuring inventory is neatly organized, clean, and regularly checked against invoices during deliveries. You will play an active role in inventory control by participating in monthly or quarterly stock counts and monitoring incoming and outgoing merchandise to prevent discrepancies. Your responsibilities also extend to maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in checkout areas and throughout the store, which supports a professional and pleasant shopping atmosphere.

This role requires excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to flourish in a busy retail environment. Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks efficiently, and interact professionally with customers and team members is crucial.
