The position of Filling Prep/Operator at Flowers Foods is a full-time role that plays a critical part in the production process, involving the preparation and handling of glaze, icing, and filling mixtures used in the bakery products. Employees in this role are responsible for operating machinery, managing ingredients, and ensuring the quality and safety of bakery products throughout the production cycle. The position requires physical activity such as lifting ingredient bags, operating pumps and valves, and overseeing the fryer to ensure consistent product quality. The role also involves using SAP computer programs for recording production data.
Working this role demands attention to detail and adherence to food safety and quality policies, compliance with company standards including Global Food Safety, HACCP, and Sarbanes Oxley, and the ability to work within the company’s security program. This position comes with a competitive salary starting at $24.35 per hour with a 90-day raise to $25.70, plus additional pay premiums of $2 per hour for night shifts and $2 per hour for weekends, providing an opportunity to earn up to $4 extra per hour on top of the base rate. The night shift works on a Thursday through Saturday rotating Wednesday schedule with 12-hour shifts.

Job Requirements

- Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and record necessary job information
- Ability to lift bags weighing between 12 and 25 pounds repeatedly
- Must operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Must work rotating 12-hour night shifts Thursday through Saturday with rotating Wednesdays
- Must comply with all internal food safety, quality, and security policies
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Must maintain punctuality and adhere to attendance policies
Job Qualifications
- One or more years of production experience as a helper
- Basic knowledge of mixer procedures
- Ability to read, comprehend, and record necessary job information
- Demonstrated competency in food safety and quality standards
- Strong adherence to company policies and procedures
- Ability to work rotating night shifts and weekends
- Good physical stamina for lifting and operating machinery
Job Duties
- Prepare glaze/icing/filling mixtures by lifting ingredients, positioning bags over mixing kettles, and mixing batches
- Pump glaze/icing/filler machine using hand valve and operate Load Hogg to deliver filler to machine
- Oversee Honey Bun fryer by regulating grease levels and maintaining proper temperature
- Record production data including batch numbers and weights in SAP computer program
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and company policies including EEO, HACCP, and safety standards
- Operate within facility security program to maintain site and product safety
- Perform additional job-related duties such as work schedule adherence and attendance policies
