Job Requirements
- Possess a valid driver's license
- pass a pre-employment drug test and physical if applicable
- pass criminal and driving record checks if applicable
- comply with the State of Michigan policies prohibiting the use of AI software in the selection process
- submit to all hiring background checks and screenings
- be able to perform routine maintenance on office fleet vehicles
- meet the educational and experience criteria relevant to the position level
Job Qualifications
- Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school
- no specific type or amount of experience required for General Office Assistant 5
- one year of administrative support experience for General Office Assistant 6
- two years of administrative support experience including one year equivalent to the intermediate level for General Office Assistant E7
- valid driver's license
Job Duties
- Receive and screen visitors
- route telephone calls to appropriate office staff
- provide directional assistance to visitors
- handle politically sensitive phone calls
- handle confidential material
- open, distribute, and log the Director's mail in Customer Relations Management (CRM)
- perform timekeeping duties
- receive and distribute incoming mail
- troubleshoot and maintain the section's multipurpose machines such as copy, printing, scanning, and faxing
- schedule meetings and conference rooms
- proofread correspondence
- order office supplies
- provide basic administrative support for Executive Assistants of the Department Executive Team (DET)
- perform routine maintenance on office fleet vehicles
