Job Description
Bambuza Hospitality Group is a dynamic and fast-growing family-owned company that operates a collection of high-quality restaurant concepts in major U.S. airports across the country, including Portland (PDX), Seattle (SEA), Orange County (SNA), Sacramento (SMF), and Salt Lake City (SLC). Renowned for delivering excellent culinary experiences combined with outstanding hospitality, Bambuza focuses on operational discipline and a strong team-centered culture. The company prides itself on maintaining consistently elevated standards while thriving in fast-paced, high-volume environments that demand agility and precision.
Currently, Bambuza Hospitality Group is seeking a General Manager to oversee their Sacramento International Airport operations. This leadership role involves managing two locations of their flagship concept, Bambuza Vietnam Kitchen & Bar, supporting approximately 30 team members in delivering exceptional service every day. As a full-time exempt position, this role offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $85,000 annually, depending on experience.
The General Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the operational success of the airport-based restaurants. This includes complete ownership of daily business operations, financial performance, and cultivating a motivated and high-performing team. Airport restaurant environments are known for their fast-paced and high-volume nature, characterized by consistent customer demand across all hours of operation. Therefore, this role is ideal for leaders who excel under pressure, embrace accountability, and enjoy hands-on involvement to ensure smooth and efficient execution.
In this role, the General Manager will be responsible for managing key performance metrics, such as sales, labor costs, food costs, and waste reduction, ensuring profitability targets are met or exceeded. Responsibilities will also encompass schedule creation and staff alignment to meet customer traffic patterns effectively. The role requires oversight of inventory control and vendor management to ensure operational continuity and cost containment. Strong adherence to cash handling, security, and safety procedures is critical to maintain compliance with company policy and airport regulations.
Team leadership is another core component, requiring the General Manager to recruit, train, develop, and retain talented individuals. Establishing clear expectations and fostering an environment of accountability allows the team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences. The General Manager will provide active coaching, feedback, and recognition, setting an example by participating in operations during peak periods.
Ensuring an outstanding guest experience is key, with the General Manager monitoring service speed, consistency, and quality to uphold the Bambuza brand standards. Additionally, they will enforce compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements, maintaining pristine operational standards.
As the role involves working within an airport, compliance with airport regulations, lease agreements, and health standards is a priority. The General Manager will also manage airport badging, security clearances, and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with airport authorities, vendors, and partners.
This full-time position requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The General Manager must be adept at working across all operational dayparts to support the business needs. Joining Bambuza Hospitality Group offers a unique opportunity to lead a successful, growing brand within the dynamic airport restaurant sector, contributing to a proven company culture focused on growth, excellence, and operational integrity.
