Job Description
Marriott International is a world-renowned leader in the hospitality industry, boasting a diverse portfolio of distinctive brands that cater to travelers worldwide. Among its prestigious collection, the EDITION Hotels stand out as a unique blend of boutique hotel vision and luxury service excellence, developed in partnership with the visionary hotelier Ian Schrager. EDITION Hotels are synonymous with sophistication, originality, and exceptional service, designed for discerning guests who appreciate quality and innovation without compromise. The West Hollywood EDITION, located at 9040 W Sunset Blvd, California, embodies these qualities, offering an extraordinary guest experience enhanced by striking design and personalized hospitality.
The role available at The West Hollywood EDITION is a high-impact management position focused on property leadership. The successful candidate will operate as the primary strategic business leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the property's operation. This includes managing guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales, and revenue generation. The role mandates a commitment to achieving a strong return on investment for both Marriott International and property ownership. As the general manager, this leader will ensure that service strategies meet or exceed guest expectations while boosting profitability and market share. Accountability for executing the hotel’s strategic plans lies with this leader, who will also foster professional development within the property leadership team. This role demands proactive engagement with sales initiatives to generate demand and synchronize goals between Marriott’s brand and property owners' objectives.
This full-time management position offers an annual salary range between $281,000 and $390,600, inclusive of bonus eligibility and a stock package. Relocation assistance is available to suitable candidates. The general manager of The West Hollywood EDITION will also actively participate in local community activities, establishing strong relationships with local officials, businesses, and customers to enhance the hotel's presence and reputation. Given the high-profile nature of this role, flexibility in working hours, including weekends, holidays, and late nights, is essential. Candidates with previous general management experience in limited or full-service properties are especially preferred, alongside those demonstrating a pattern of exceptional performance and career progression within the hospitality industry.
The leader entrusted with this role will drive strategic business planning, ensuring alignment with broader Marriott global initiatives while tailoring approaches to local market conditions. Core responsibilities include business information analysis to inform decision-making, talent management, employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and brand standards. The general manager must also champion owner relations through transparent and consistent communication about brand initiatives and property performance. With a hands-on approach to customer relations, this individual will harness guest feedback to enhance service delivery and uphold the stellar reputation of the EDITION brand through active public relations and community involvement.
Joining the EDITION Hotels means becoming part of a global team that values innovation, culture, and excellence, where individuals are empowered to grow, belong, and deliver their best work. Marriott International is committed to equal opportunity employment, fostering a diverse, inclusive environment free of discrimination, and providing opportunities for all qualified applicants. This is an exceptional opportunity for motivated hospitality leaders ready to make a significant impact at one of the most dynamic and prestigious properties in the world.
