In the role of a manager at Taziki's Cafe, you will be responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations with a keen focus on achieving cost control and labor goals. You will analyze the store's profit and loss statements to identify paths to reaching financial targets. Creating weekly staff schedules is essential to balance people development with operational efficiency. You will set a positive tone at the start of each shift by providing calm, clear directions about goals and duties to your staff. Mentoring and supervising your team members is a key aspect, ensuring quality crew development through motivation, training, and regular evaluations.

Expertise in food safety is mandatory, as is mastering all menu and product knowledge to maintain high standards. You will work alongside your team to prepare catering orders and support kitchen or service stations during busy times. Inventory management involves ordering products, supplies, and produce as needed to keep operations running smoothly. Staffing responsibilities include screening, interviewing, onboarding new hourly employees, and maintaining a positive team culture. Accurate cash handling and payment procedures are critical, alongside fostering meaningful guest interactions that enhance their dining experience.

Ensuring compliance with health department standards during every shift is vital. Following proper alcohol handling policies, proper food storage, and maintaining hygiene and appearance standards are part of daily expectations. Job Requirements

  • Obtain a Food Manager’s certification shortly after beginning employment

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 3 years of upper management experience
  • Strong work ethic, desire to exceed guests’ expectations, and a real passion for fresh food
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Looking for the chance to build, develop, and mentor a team
  • Enjoy the challenge of setting goals and hitting them
  • Sufficient experience and knowledge of restaurant Profit and Loss statements
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite and computer literacy
  • Excellent leadership, customer service, and communication skills
  • Ability to recruit, train, retain, and motivate quality employees
  • Motivated, self-initiated, and team oriented
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Demonstrate sound decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Must have or obtain a Food Manager’s certification shortly after beginning employment

Job Duties

  • Analyzing your store’s P&L and deciding a path to reach your cost goals
  • Writing a weekly staff schedule to achieve both people development and labor cost goals
  • Setting the tone for the shift and giving clear, calm directions to your staff about their goals and duties
  • Supervising and mentoring your staff members and managing quality crew development, motivation, training, and evaluations
  • Being an expert in Food Safety
