As the General Manager at The Nolen, you will lead all daily operations and be directly responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service and quality. This position requires a proactive and personable leader who can skillfully navigate the challenges of managing food and beverage services within budget while enhancing guest satisfaction. You will oversee team leadership, maximize revenue through strategic sales and marketing efforts, and maintain operational compliance with safety and sanitation standards. Flexible scheduling is expected, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to ensure comprehensive management coverage. Job Requirements

  • Education level relevant to hospitality management
  • prior experience in food and beverage leadership roles
  • proven track record in sales and business development
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • capable of lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds
  • commitment to compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Strong background in food and beverage operations with advanced knowledge of hospitality best practices, people management, and financial controls
  • demonstrated ability to drive sales and cultivate new business opportunities, particularly in events and private dining
  • highly motivated, hands-on leader with strong initiative, entrepreneurial mindset, and desire for achievement
  • effective problem solver who can anticipate, prevent, identify, and resolve issues proactively
  • ability to thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure environments
  • professional presence: approachable, visible, and service-oriented with guests, clients, and team members
  • proficiency with POS system Agilysys and event management tools STS

Job Duties

  • Partner with the hotel sales team to actively source, develop, and close new business opportunities for buyouts, group events, and private functions
  • develop and implement sales and marketing plans for The Nolen to capture in-house guests, attract the local market, and grow private event revenue
  • assist in developing financial goals and accurately forecast food and beverage revenue and expenses
  • ensure team members are trained in financial controls for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables
  • identify major revenue opportunities, cost savings, and potential risks to maximize profitability
  • create, manage, and distribute team member schedules in a timely manner, aligning labor with business demands
  • oversee menu rollouts, promotions, package deals, and event activations in collaboration with culinary and hotel leadership
  • manage and maintain sanitation, safety, and service standards to protect assets, comply with regulations, and deliver a premium guest experience
