The Bradford Rooftop is a premier rooftop bar and lounge situated at the peak of New Jersey's only AC Marriott Hotel in Bridgewater, NJ. This sophisticated year-round venue combines both indoor and outdoor settings to offer guests an exclusive and refined atmosphere. Guests are treated to expertly handcrafted cocktails, locally sourced brews, and thoughtfully curated small plates, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Watchung Mountain Range. The venue features a cozy outdoor fire pit and versatile event spaces that can accommodate private, fully catered gatherings ranging from intimate groups of 10 to large-scale events hosting up to 300 guests. As the sole rooftop bar in Bridgewater and its neighboring areas, The Bradford Rooftop presents an elevated social and dining experience that caters to every occasion, from casual meetups to grand celebrations.
In the role of General Manager at The Bradford Rooftop, you will assume full leadership and operational responsibility for this distinguished venue. Your primary accountability will encompass managing the profit and loss statement, setting and executing strategic initiatives to propel revenue growth, and effectively controlling prime operational costs. You will lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence, enthusiasm, and accountability within the team. Key leadership responsibilities include recruiting, mentoring, and developing a high-performing management team, including assistant general managers and culinary leaders. As the face of the operation, you will set and uphold elite service standards to guarantee every guest enjoys an elevated and world-class experience throughout the sprawling rooftop and bar areas.
Collaboration is also an integral aspect of this position, as you will work closely with the AC Hotel's General Manager and Director of Sales to maximize guest capture rates, align initiatives across the property, and ensure a seamless guest journey from hotel to rooftop bar. Your role extends to revenue and marketing oversight, where you will manage large-scale social catering events and drive innovative promotion strategies through partnerships with Corporate Marketing and PR teams, helping to enhance the venue’s visibility and customer engagement within the community.
Maintaining flawless compliance is equally vital, as you will oversee all human resources functions, legal requirements, health standards, and standard operating procedures to safeguard and elevate the brand’s reputation. The Bradford Rooftop offers a competitive compensation package with a base salary reflective of your General Manager experience and a performance-based bonus incentive. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5 plus years of general manager experience in high-volume, premium restaurant or hospitality setting
- Proven track record of managing P&L statements and budgeting
- Experience in managing labor models and cost controls
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage high-volume social catering events and marketing initiatives
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 plus years of experience as a general manager in a high-volume premium restaurant, upscale lounge, or hotel food and beverage operation
- Strong financial acumen with proven success managing profit and loss statements, budgeting, labor models, and cost controls
- Extensive experience with large-scale private events, social catering, and nightlife or lounge marketing
- Master communicator able to build professional relationships with hotel executives, corporate stakeholders, and guests
- Entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives under pressure and adapts quickly with an engaging personality
Job Duties
- Own the operation by managing the venue's profit and loss, strategic direction, and financial performance
- Lead and inspire the team by recruiting, mentoring, and developing leadership staff including AGM and culinary leaders
- Champion the guest experience by setting and maintaining high service standards for the rooftop bar and lounge
- Partner with the hotel general manager and director of sales to maximize guest capture and align property initiatives
