The General Manager role at SpringHill Suites, part of the ICON Lodging family, is a full-time, on-site position located in Abilene, TX. The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing all hotel operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient daily management of departments such as front office, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services. This role emphasizes delivering a consistently high level of guest satisfaction while maintaining brand standards and complying with company policies. The General Manager is tasked with managing budgets, forecasting, revenue optimization, and controlling costs to meet financial goals. Additionally, the position requires strong leadership skills to coach and develop team members and to handle guest concerns with professionalism.

This leadership position also involves coordinating with corporate leadership to align local hotel strategies with broader company objectives. The General Manager will monitor key performance indicators to drive operational improvements and enhance service quality. Beyond operational oversight, the role includes spearheading local marketing efforts to boost occupancy rates and revenue, as well as building and nurturing relationships with the community and business partners. Job Requirements

proven experience in hotel or hospitality management
strong leadership skills
financial management expertise including budgeting and forecasting
excellent communication skills
ability to maintain brand standards and regulatory compliance
proficiency with hotel management software
experience handling guest concerns professionally
preferred experience in local marketing and sales
prior marriott or springhill suites brand experience advantageous

Job Qualifications

proven hotel or hospitality management experience with responsibility for daily operations staffing and guest services
strong leadership and people-management skills including team building performance coaching scheduling and conflict resolution
financial and business acumen including budgeting forecasting revenue management and cost control
excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests team members vendors and corporate leadership
ability to maintain brand standards ensure regulatory and safety compliance and implement company policies and procedures
solid problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations and guest concerns professionally
proficiency with hotel management systems reservation platforms and basic office software e g ms office
experience with sales and local marketing initiatives to grow occupancy adr and overall revenue is preferred
prior marriott or springhill suites brand experience is an advantage
high school diploma or equivalent required bachelor’s degree in hospitality management business or a related field is preferred
