Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in providing integrated facilities management and food service solutions, dedicated to improving the quality of life for the people they serve. With a strong commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and excellence in service, Sodexo operates worldwide across various sectors including healthcare, education, corporate, and senior living. This particular opportunity is for the General Manager position at Columbia Lutheran Home in Seattle, WA, a renowned not-for-profit nursing home that has upheld the legacy of innovative and compassionate care for decades. Columbia Lutheran Home is distinguished for its holistic approach to care, focusing on the well-being of the body, mind, and spirit, making it a cherished institution in the Pacific Northwest.

The General Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the food service operations of Columbia Lutheran Home, ensuring that the highest standards of culinary excellence and customer service are consistently met. Reporting directly to the District Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day dining and culinary operations within the facility. This includes maintaining strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, achieving financial targets, and implementing technical training programs for the production team. The role demands a hands-on leader who can inspire, coach, and lead by example, fostering an environment of teamwork and continuous improvement.

This management role requires a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification or the ability to obtain such certification within the first six months of employment. Sodexo offers a competitive compensation package that reflects the candidate’s education, experience, and skills, ensuring fairness and equity. Additionally, the company provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, wellness programs, 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, company holidays, and opportunities for career advancement and tuition reimbursement. This role not only offers a chance to work within a respected healthcare facility but also to be part of a global company that values diversity, inclusion, and the personal well-being of its employees.

Sodexo’s commitment extends beyond service delivery—it is about creating a better everyday experience for both customers and employees. The General Manager will contribute to this mission by managing multiple priorities, making sound business decisions, and building strong client relationships. Candidates are expected to possess a strong culinary background, ideally in healthcare or retail settings, with proven experience managing culinary teams and budgets. They should demonstrate robust human resource skills, financial acumen, and expertise in food safety compliance. This role is ideal for someone passionate about culinary arts and customer service, who thrives in an environment that values innovation, independence, and leadership.
