The Restaurant General Manager position at Love's plays a vital role in overseeing the operations of their high-volume, multifaceted restaurants and fresh kitchens located within their travel stop locations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient restaurant operations while providing exceptional customer service. The Restaurant General Manager leads teams by managing processes, executing strategies designed to enhance sales, and improving customer satisfaction. This role requires someone passionate about the restaurant industry, eager to lead a dynamic team environment, and ready to make a tangible difference.

In this position, the manager will ensure that the kitchen remains safe, clean, and well-maintained, adhering strictly to proper food safety protocols. The manager drives sales by efficiently managing ordering, stocking, inventory, and food preparation processes. Supporting the General Manager of the facility, the Restaurant General Manager assists with task execution, compliance with safety standards, schedule and cash management, talent acquisition and development, and comprehensive reporting duties including daily, weekly, and monthly performance updates.

The role demands strong financial acumen to understand and act upon profit and loss statements in order to implement business changes and maximize opportunities. Additionally, the manager is responsible for coaching team members in preparing and packaging customer orders promptly while ensuring service exceeds customer expectations. Handling customer feedback diligently and using it to improve the overall dining experience is a crucial component of the job.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years restaurant management experience
  • 3+ years managing operations with an annual sales volume of $1M+
  • 3+ years affecting and deciphering budgets and P&L statements
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer satisfaction focus
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
  • intermediate level computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • frequent lifting/moving of items over 50 pounds or more
  • ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening
