The General Manager (GM) position at Regal Cinemas is a full-time, salaried leadership role critical to the successful operation of a cinema theatre. As the face of Regal, the GM leads a diverse team, ensuring that the theaters operate smoothly while fostering a positive environment of engagement, diversity, and professionalism. The GM is tasked with overseeing all operational aspects, including finance, staffing, facility management, guest services, and compliance with company policies. This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive team success through coaching and collaboration.
In this role, the GM will champion Regal’s vision by consistently delivering exceptional guest experiences through premiere picture and sound quality, excellent food and beverage services, and maintaining an inviting and clean facility. They are responsible for cultivating a culture where showmanship and guest satisfaction are paramount. Responsibilities extend to managing employee performance, training, and development, as well as maintaining inventory control and auditing processes to optimize profitability.
Moreover, the GM serves as the theater’s key representative in both daily operations and community engagement, setting the standard for excellent service and operational excellence. This position involves hands-on management of all theater systems, including projection and audio-visual equipment, demonstrating a working knowledge of related technology and maintenance. The role also encompasses financial oversight, including cash management, expense control, and revenue achievement.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- two years management or supervisory experience or two years post-secondary education in business
- legal age to sell or serve alcohol where applicable
- completion of legally required alcohol training and Regal responsible beverage server training
- ability to perform calculations with speed and accuracy
- strong communication skills both oral and written
- ability to operate office equipment and perform mechanical tasks
- physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 60 lbs, and perform activities like climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- willingness to uphold company policies and complete required trainings such as sexual harassment and discrimination
- demonstrated problem-solving and leadership skills
- availability for regular and consistent attendance
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- two years of post-secondary education in business or two years management or supervisory experience
- working knowledge of all theatre systems including booth and projection technology, maintenance, programming, and TMS operation
- legal age to sell or serve alcohol where applicable and completion of required alcohol training
- good public speaking skills
- effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to perform calculations accurately and identify errors
- problem-solving skills with the ability to gather and evaluate information and implement solutions
- experience with PC platforms and basic office programs
- ability to interface effectively with customers and co-workers
- leadership skills to establish goals and set priorities
- supervisory experience including hiring, training, and managing staff
Job Duties
- regular and consistent attendance
- upholding and administering all Regal policies as outlined in ROM and Corporate directives
- ensure all cash management policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
- control concession inventory shortages and spoilage levels
- monitor janitorial staff to ensure facility is cleaned to Regal standards every day
- hiring, training, developing, supervising, counseling, scheduling, and after conferring with Human Resources Manager, terminating employees
- properly administering all applicable paperwork and upholding all company policies as they pertain to Human Resources
- ensure required alcohol certification and training are current where applicable
- supervising all staff positions including all projection and audio-visual equipment within the theatre
- controlling costs including all direct operating expenses, purchasing and ordering concession and café stock
- supervising theatre maintenance including minor repairs and obtaining qualified personnel for larger concerns
- monitoring risk management including cast member and guest safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and properly handling, reporting, and investigating accidents
- managing guest relations, marketing and promotions, scheduling movie show times, and counting, depositing, and reconciling all receipts
- knowledge and compliance of dress code
- ensuring guest satisfaction by greeting and thanking guests
- completing or in process of completing management certification and training
