Job Description

Riverside Colorado is a distinguished boutique resort located in the picturesque setting of northern Colorado, specifically in Bellvue, CO. This unique destination seamlessly combines the charm of a boutique resort with the convenience of a general store and a coffee cart, all nestled alongside the beautiful river environment. Riverside Colorado is dedicated to delivering outstanding guest experiences while upholding core values centered on sustainability, safety, inclusion, and respect for their staff, guests, and the natural wildlife surrounding the property. These guiding principles foster a welcoming and harmonious environment for everyone who visits or works at the resort.

The General Manager position at Riverside Colorado is a full-time, exempt role that reports directly to ownership. It offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 annually, with additional benefits that are commensurate with the applicant's experience. This role is designed for a hands-on leader who is ready to engage with the resort's diverse operations and personnel. The successful candidate will function as a working leader, thriving in the fast-paced, dynamic environment typical of hospitality and retail operations. They will be expected to wear many hats, demonstrating versatility and a proactive approach to leadership.

The primary responsibility of the General Manager is to oversee all daily operations of Riverside Colorado, ensuring that guests have an exceptional stay and that the resort operates smoothly and efficiently. This includes managing the lodging units, general store, coffee cart, shuttle services, and common areas. The role demands a professional who has proven expertise in hospitality and retail management, a strong operational background, and familiarity with technology systems integral to these industries. The General Manager will need to exhibit strong leadership, a commitment to maintaining a positive and safe workplace for staff, and a focus on sustaining the high standards of guest service that define Riverside Colorado.

In addition to operational oversight, the General Manager is also instrumental in staff leadership and culture building. They will manage scheduling, support hiring and training, and work closely with HR to uphold the company’s values of safety, respect, and inclusion. The candidate must be adaptable and willing to step in wherever necessary, demonstrating a hands-on approach to leadership. This role is not confined to a traditional clock-in/clock-out schedule; instead, it requires flexibility, a strong ownership mindset, and excellent work ethic.

The General Manager will also play a crucial role in managing guest experiences and reservations, overseeing the use of the Cloudbeds platform and various online travel agency systems, and ensuring effective communication with guests across multiple channels. They will support special events and coordinate transportation services for guests, highlighting their ability to manage multiple facets of the resort environment effectively.

Inventory control and food safety compliance are key aspects of this role. The General Manager will oversee purchasing and inventory management across all departments, including food and beverages, housekeeping, and retail. They must be trained in food safety standards required by local health authorities, ensuring the resort meets all regulatory compliance.

Finally, administrative duties such as invoice processing, system improvements, and participation in weekly operational meetings are critical components of this position. The General Manager will also champion sustainability initiatives, applying practical solutions to support the resort's commitment to environmental stewardship.

Job Requirements

  • minimum 3 years experience in hospitality or resort management
  • ability to lead and motivate diverse teams
  • strong computer literacy and experience with hospitality software
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • flexibility to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays
  • valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • food safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively
  • physically able to perform hands-on tasks and manage multiple responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • preferred college degree with an associate or bachelor's level of achievement
  • advanced computer skills including google drive excel canva or other intermediate level graphics software
  • minimum 3 years experience managing cloudbeds software
  • minimum 3 years experience in management at a corporate hospitality company
  • willingness to train and become a trainer on espresso machine front desk clerk trainer manage and do housekeeping on a regular basis as needed and manage and do light maintenance of the resort
  • strong operational background with hands-on leadership experience
  • strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills
  • amenable to working evenings weekends and holidays as needed
  • commitment to guest service team culture safety and sustainability
  • must have a clean driving record

Job Duties

  • oversee daily resort operations including lodging units general store coffee cart shuttle service and common areas
  • ensure all guest units are clean safe and presentable assist with cleaning when housekeeping is not onsite
  • maintain all common areas restrooms fire pits cook areas signage lighting etc.
  • supervise vendors contractors and service providers
  • coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with vendors
  • act as incident commander during emergencies manage on-site security when present
  • maintain first aid kits and remain cpr first aid trained
  • create and manage staff schedules across all departments including facilities and housekeeping
  • manage housekeeping staff and laundry services
  • assist with hiring training and termination of staff in accordance with company policies
  • work closely with hr leadership to uphold company values and ensure a safe respectful workplace
  • train all staff on systems processes and operational standards
  • manage reservations and lodging inventory
  • oversee cloudbeds and all ota platforms
  • manage guest communications via phone email ota messaging and whistle
  • support special events programming and private parties in collaboration with the events team
  • schedule shuttle operators to ensure guest transportation needs are met
  • oversee purchasing and inventory for all departments including food beverages housekeeping supplies general store and coffee cart
  • coordinate with mishawakas restaurant on prepackaged goods needs
  • ensure food safety standards and compliance are maintained must be food safety trained to meet health department requirements
  • ensure invoices are routed to bookkeeping in a timely manner
  • review update and improve systems and processes across operations
  • manage shared google drive and documentation
  • participate in weekly operational meetings
  • support sustainability initiatives with flexibility and practical implementation
