Palihotel San Diego is a vibrant boutique hotel located in the heart of San Diego’s bustling Gaslamp Quarter. This dynamic hotel features 122 uniquely designed guest rooms that reflect a youthful and design-centric aesthetic inspired by preppy, nautical themes. Known for its exceptional hospitality and innovative style, Palihotel San Diego also includes the Saint James French Diner restaurant and bar, as well as a guest-exclusive rooftop deck that offers daily social hours and panoramic views of the city’s skyline. This treasured hotel is part of Palisociety, a fully integrated hospitality company established in Los Angeles in 1998 by CEO Avi Brosh. The General Manager role at Palihotel San Diego is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the comprehensive operational and financial success of the property. This position demands a hands-on, detail-oriented leader who excels at managing multiple departments including Front Desk, Housekeeping, Engineering, Overnight Operations, and Food & Beverage. The General Manager embodies the Palisociety philosophy of community-driven, design-forward, and service-oriented hospitality, acting as the on-site culture driver to ensure that all service and design standards are met with excellence. The ideal candidate balances day-to-day operational execution with long-term strategic planning and financial stewardship, focusing on profitability through disciplined expense management and operational excellence.
In addition to financial oversight, the General Manager leads efforts to continuously enhance the guest experience by fostering a culture of personalized hospitality and operational consistency. Managing guest satisfaction scores and responding promptly to feedback are key priorities, alongside actively engaging with guests on-site to cultivate meaningful connections. The role also includes ensuring that all property upkeep, from maintenance to design standards, remains impeccable through routine inspections and supervision of relevant teams. Food & Beverage operations at the in-house French Diner and rooftop amenities are managed to align with brand standards while positioning the restaurant as both a guest perk and a neighborhood hotspot.
Financial control is a critical element of this role, entailing the management of budgets, labor costs, purchasing, and vendor relations to optimize profitability. The General Manager prepares detailed financial reports and fosters transparent owner relations, working closely with accounting and regional leadership. In support of revenue growth, the General Manager collaborates with sales, marketing, and revenue management teams to implement strategies driving occupancy, average daily rate, and revenue per available room, including developing local partnerships and in-house activations. This role requires experience with hotel operating systems, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and superior communication and leadership skills. Strong Food & Beverage operational expertise and a commitment to a flexible schedule are essential.

Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in the hospitality industry
- Experience managing Food & Beverage operations
- Strong financial and budget management skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical duties including lifting up to 40 lbs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
