Job Description
Shaner Hotel Group is currently seeking a General Manager for the Holiday Inn located in Jacksonville, Florida. The hotel boasts 98 rooms and is conveniently situated close to the St. Johns Town Center, The Avenues shopping mall, University of North Florida, Mayo Clinic, and Florida State Community College South Campus, offering easy access to beaches and outdoor recreational activities. With approximately 4000 sq/ft of conference and banquet space, the hotel is ideal for both meetings and social functions. Shaner Hotel Group is a renowned hospitality owner-operator and management company with a diverse portfolio of over 65 properties across 14 states and four countries, providing a range of services including hotel development, design, e-commerce, and revenue management.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in the hospitality industry
- ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers
- high school graduate or equivalent
- college degree in hospitality management or business and/or CHA designation preferred
- bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- knowledge of budget preparation and cost controls
- working knowledge of all hotel departments
- ability to read and interpret documents
- ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- ability to apply good judgment
- knowledgeable of the property management system
- knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele
