Motto by Hilton Indianapolis is an eagerly awaited lifestyle hotel set to open in June 2027. Situated in the iconic King Cole Building in downtown Indianapolis, this boutique hotel will feature 116 thoughtfully designed guestrooms that blend modern, efficient design with the rich architectural character unique to the city. The hotel aims to offer a vibrant and locally connected guest experience that goes beyond traditional hospitality. With activated social spaces and a dynamic food and beverage program, including a rooftop bar and restaurant, a street-level café, and a lively ground-floor bar, Motto by Hilton Indianapolis will serve both guests and the local community alike. Its strategic location near the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, and premier dining, entertainment, and cultural attractions further positions it as an exciting destination for travelers and locals.
The General Manager role at Motto by Hilton Indianapolis is designed to play a crucial leadership part in the entire pre-opening process. The selected individual will be responsible for shaping the hotel culture, setting a standard for exceptional guest experiences, and establishing a robust operational foundation in full alignment with the Motto brand. This full-time role demands someone who can manage complex budgets, oversee cost controls, and procure operating supplies and equipment (OS&E) efficiently. Additionally, recruitment and development of a highly capable team will be a priority, alongside building strong community relationships and securing the hotel's successful opening on time and within budget. The individual will also provide strategic leadership to drive operational excellence, foster valuable partnerships with ownership, team members, customers, and stakeholders, and achieve sustainable financial success over time.
This position requires a visionary and strategic leader who is not only adept in the operational and financial aspects of hotel management but is also passionate about cultivating a memorable guest experience that resonates with the ethos of the Hilton family and Motto brand. Expertise in overseeing hotel operations with annual revenues exceeding $15 million, along with strong commercial acumen in financial management and revenue optimization, is expected. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional leadership skills by building, inspiring, and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and empowerment. Moreover, they must effectively balance owner expectations with Hilton’s standards to produce mutually beneficial outcomes.
Additional preferred qualifications include experience managing lifestyle brand properties, proven success as an opening executive with pre-opening and launch experience, prior Hilton experience, and familiarity with the local market. The General Manager will be instrumental in guiding the hotel’s strategy, enhancing brand values, coordinating property placement within the community, and engaging actively in community service initiatives. Job Requirements
- minimum two years hotel manager or five years executive member experience at a similar-sized or larger hotel
