The General Manager role at the Capital Suites Hotel is pivotal to maintaining and enhancing this environment of excellence. This position requires strategic leadership to ensure all hotel operations adhere to brand standards, company goals, and financial objectives. The General Manager will lead a diverse team across multiple departments such as rooms, food and beverage, sales, engineering, and finance. A primary responsibility is to champion service excellence, resulting in memorable guest experiences and high satisfaction rates while also overseeing financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in hospitality management or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive hotel management experience
  • Proven experience in a General Manager or senior leadership role within the hospitality industry
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, financial forecasting, and operational planning
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to upholding safety and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • Extensive leadership experience with at least 7-10 years of progressive hotel management experience, including prior experience as a General Manager or senior hotel executive
  • Proven track record of driving guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial performance within branded hotel environments
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively engage team members, guests, ownership groups, and corporate partners
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze performance metrics, manage budgets, and implement strategic initiatives that drive results
  • Ability to lead with integrity and inspire teams, cultivating a culture of accountability, service, and continuous improvement

Job Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for all hotel operations, ensuring alignment with brand standards, company goals, and financial targets
  • Lead and inspire department leaders across all areas of the hotel, including rooms, food and beverage, sales, engineering, and finance

  • Oversee financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and cost controls to drive profitability
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a diverse leadership team, fostering professional growth and a collaborative workplace culture
  • Partner closely with ownership, corporate leadership, and brand representatives to execute strategic initiatives and operational priorities
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and brand standards while maintaining a well-maintained and high-performing property
  • Represent the hotel within the local community, building partnerships that strengthen the hotel’s reputation and market presence
