Their Hair Color Bars are a core part of this mission, serving as vibrant, community-focused spaces where customers receive expert care and premium products. The company is committed to inclusivity, sustainability, and delivering joyful experiences both in its products and in-person interactions. Operating in numerous locations, Madison Reed blends cutting-edge technology with beauty expertise to revolutionize the hair color industry, always reflecting their core values of love, joy, trust, courage, and responsibility.
The position of General Manager - Licensed Cosmetologist at Madison Reed's Hair Color Bars is a leadership role that encompasses both business management and team development within a dynamic retail environment. This full-time role is integral to the success of each Hair Color Bar, requiring the manager to lead a diverse team of Shift Leads, Client Support Specialists, Colorists, and Assistant Colorists to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Reporting to the District Manager, the General Manager is responsible for driving sales, operational excellence, and cultivating a positive workplace culture aligned with Madison Reed's brand values.
The General Manager’s mission focuses on three key areas: guest satisfaction, business building, and team development. This multifaceted role involves hands-on leadership, including coaching team members, managing daily operations, overseeing retail sales and services, and ensuring the Hair Color Bar meets high standards for cleanliness, merchandising, and inventory management. They act as a role model by demonstrating mastery of hair color services and stepping behind the chair when necessary, maintaining direct involvement in the service experience.
This role offers a competitive base salary starting at $70,304 annually, with opportunities to earn monthly bonuses based on performance. The pay may vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Given the retail and service nature of the business, the General Manager must be available to work weekends, holidays, and peak business times. Leadership responsibilities also extend to recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing training and coaching of team members, ensuring that each individual’s unique talents are aligned with the needs of the Hair Color Bar.
The position also requires flexibility to support other locations or new managers as needed, reinforcing the collaborative spirit within the district. Physical demands include standing, walking for extended periods, bending, twisting, and engaging actively with guests through consultations and conversation. Candidates for this role must hold an active cosmetology license and demonstrate proven operational management experience in salon or retail settings.
In summary, the General Manager at Madison Reed's Hair Color Bars plays a pivotal role in shaping the guest and employee experience while driving business growth. This exciting opportunity is ideal for entrepreneurial leaders with a passion for beauty, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence within a thriving and inclusive company culture.
