Job Description
JOEY Restaurants is a well-established, family-owned restaurant group that has been delivering exceptional dining experiences since 1992. With over 50 locations across Canada and the United States, JOEY has grown into an iconic multi-concept brand known for its handcrafted, locally and globally inspired menu offerings created by award-winning chefs. The company’s commitment to hospitality excellence is reflected in its warm, inclusive, and creative environment where continuous training, education, and empowerment of its people are prioritized. As JOEY continues to expand through 2030, it remains dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of product quality, service, and guest experience.
This role of General Manager within JOEY Restaurants is a critical leadership position responsible for driving the success of a multi-million-dollar restaurant. As a General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in attracting, retaining, and developing a high-performing team by fostering their personal and professional growth. You will be tasked with delivering and executing quarterly strategic planning goals efficiently, while upholding the highest standards in product, profit, environment, and overall experience. The position offers an annual salary range of $100,000 to $150,000, with the actual offer based on work experience and other objective factors.
In this role, you will lead by example to create a cohesive and collaborative team environment, demonstrating exemplary leadership skills that encourage teamwork and a positive culture. Ensuring that every guest receives friendly and attentive service throughout their dining experience is a key responsibility, showcasing what Iconic Hospitality truly means at JOEY. You will be expected to handle guest complaints and service issues with urgency, poise, and good judgment, owning the responsibility of managing all aspects of the restaurant as if it were your own business.
Financial management duties include assisting with managing store sales, budgets, cost of goods, and labor to maintain profitability without compromising service quality. Supervision and guidance over service and experience standards are essential, alongside providing impactful coaching to team members to ensure consistent performance improvements. Recruitment and retention are critical components, where you will impact the candidate experience positively from selection through to ongoing development. Training and development of technical knowledge and execution are supported by you, ensuring that all team members are well-equipped to deliver on JOEY’s standards.
Communication plays a vital role in this position, requiring daily focus and feedback directed at both service and kitchen teams to maintain alignment and efficiency. Compliance with all food and alcohol safety regulations is mandatory, ensuring that all safety precautions and procedures are followed to provide a safe environment for guests and staff alike.
As a General Manager at JOEY, you will embody the qualities that have made the brand successful: genuine warmth, care, integrity, and professionalism. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is passionate about hospitality that creates memorable guest experiences and lasting relationships. JOEY Restaurants values leaders who are natural problem solvers, confident yet humble, and committed to building and leading high-performing teams that drive business success.
