Job Description

Signature Aviation is the largest global network of private aviation terminals with more than 225 locations worldwide. As a premier hospitality organization and a certified Great Place to Work, Signature is dedicated to redefining private air travel by delivering safe, convenient, and elevated experiences to guests. The company employs nearly 6,000 aviation experts and enthusiasts committed to excellence in service and community engagement. Signature is proud to support its employees through a variety of benefits, programs, and resources that promote overall well-being and professional development. The organization also focuses on giving back to communities, empowering future aviation professionals, and supporting veterans. Health, financial wellness, and continuous learning are central to the company's employee value proposition.

The General Manager plays a critical leadership role at Signature Aviation, overseeing all aspects of a private aviation terminal (PAT). This role focuses on operational excellence and creating exceptional guest experiences while serving as a culture champion aligned with Signature's values: Be One Team, Deliver Safety and Excellence, Shape the Future, and Lead with Trust. The General Manager ensures the smooth operation of the PAT by coordinating ramp operations, guest services, and team performance. This position requires flexibility, including working nights, holidays, and weekends, and mandates on-site presence to foster a strong team environment. Work settings include indoor and outdoor environments near active aircraft and ground service equipment.

Responsibilities include overseeing business functions such as service delivery, equipment and facility maintenance, staffing, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The General Manager develops market strategies by building relationships with guests, airport authorities, and industry representatives, while continuously analyzing competitors and coordinating with the Revenue Management team to sustain local competitiveness. Financial stewardship of the location’s profit and loss (P&L), budgeting, capital expenditures, and expense management is a key component of the role.

Safety is a paramount concern, and the General Manager ensures compliance with operational, fuel quality control, security protocols, and company policies. This includes leading accident investigations, conducting safety training, and maintaining safety reporting platforms. The role also involves managing team member performance, development, and engagement through hiring, training, coaching, and corrective actions. The General Manager actively participates in operational duties when necessary, supports ramp operations, and serves as a point of escalation for guest concerns.

The ideal candidate for the General Manager position holds a Bachelor’s Degree or possesses equivalent experience, with at least one to two years of management experience. Operational certifications such as towing and deicing are preferred, with a willingness to become certified if not already. Effective communication, leadership, hospitality, financial acumen, and multitasking skills are essential. The role demands physical ability to operate vehicles and equipment safely in diverse conditions and the ability to pass background checks and airport security requirements.

Signature Aviation offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; life and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plans; critical illness coverage; identity theft and legal services; paid time off; maternity leave; tuition reimbursement; and employee assistance programs. This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a dynamic team within a vibrant, expanding global network dedicated to delivering unparalleled private aviation experiences.
