The General Manager position at Holiday Inn Club Vacations is a challenging and dynamic role, providing overall responsibility for managing the daily operations of the resort. The goal is to ensure superior guest and owner satisfaction, service excellence, and product quality while driving brand initiatives and financial performance. The General Manager leads and inspires a diverse team, fostering a positive and engaging work environment focused on succession planning, leadership development, and employee recognition. This role involves direct supervision of various resort leaders such as the Assistant General Manager, Resort Operations Manager, Guest Services, Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage/Retail managers, depending on the size and location of the resort.

This role requires a strategic approach to managing resort operations, including financial oversight of HOA, Retail, and Developer reserves to meet or exceed targets. Budget creation and payroll management must be balanced with delivering outstanding guest experiences that align with brand standards. The General Manager also plays an essential role in risk management by promoting safety culture and compliance with company and property safety programs. Furthermore, sustainable practices through participation in initiatives like Green Engage reflect the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in resort or hotel management, with proven experience in supervising diverse teams and managing operational budgets. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial to influence and build positive professional relationships internally and externally. Proficiency in English and the ability to write effectively are essential. The position prefers candidates with a four-year college degree but requires at minimum a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Candidates should have at least four to six years of experience in the resort or related hospitality industries, with three to five years in supervisory roles. Certifications such as Community Association Manager, CPR, or hotel management-related are preferred to enhance operational effectiveness.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 4-year college degree preferred
  • Minimum of four to six years of experience in resort operations or related hospitality industry
  • Three to five years in a supervisory role
  • Effective written and spoken English
  • Community Association Manager certification required within first year where applicable
  • CPR certification preferred within first 90 days
  • Hotel or resort management certifications a plus
  • Serve-Safe or TIPS certification preferred where alcohol is served
  • Must be at least 21 years of age with valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • Partner with finance on budget creation and payroll management
  • Monitor controllables including inventory and product
  • Refine controls and compliance plans
  • Ensure execution of AUM and Reserve plans
  • Build and maintain positive internal and external business relationships
