The General Manager I (GM) position at HMSHost offers a dynamic leadership opportunity designed for individuals ready to take charge of quick-service restaurant (QSR) operations or small clusters of restaurants with sales generally up to $5 million annually. This role holds overall accountability for ensuring restaurant cleanliness, staffing, operational efficiency, and financial performance to high company standards. They ensure the availability of products and the proper functioning of restaurant equipment, oversee vendor relations, inventory control, and participate in audits and food donation programs to minimize waste. Job Duties
- Ensures all assistant managers and staff recognize the importance of closing the restaurant to prepare it for opening, holds shift managers accountable for executing checklists
- deploys staff and resources to maximize profitability, prepares schedules, and ensures coverage of all shifts
- interviews, hires, advances, promotes, or terminates associates as needed, promotes HMSHost in the local community
- ensures onboarding and offboarding comply with training, badging, and company processes
- monitors progress towards unit goals using financial and operational reports, provides coaching and recognition to staff
- ensures daily product orders and inventory levels, manages vendor relationships and supply chain issues
- maintains proficiency with management information systems like MIV, Crunch Time, and Kronos
- oversees restaurant equipment maintenance and repairs
- manages response to audits and food donation programs
- trains and assesses associates on brand standards and technology adoption
- develops creative strategies to increase revenue
- manages day-to-day activities across restaurants or points-of-sale
- resolves customer and associate issues, escalating when necessary
