The General Manager role at Yoshinoya is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the entire operation of an assigned restaurant. The General Manager ensures that all restaurant activities are aligned with the policies, procedures, and operational requirements set forth by Yoshinoya corporate standards. This leadership position requires versatility as the individual is expected to be cross-trained in every restaurant position, from food preparation and cooking to cashier duties and guest relations. The General Manager not only supervises the team but actively participates in daily operations to lead by example and foster a collaborative work environment.

Key aspects of the role include staff development, performance management, inventory control, labor cost management, and maintaining a clean and safe workplace. The General Manager works closely with crewmembers to provide consistent feedback, training, and motivation, ensuring a high-performing team that contributes to the restaurant's success. Additionally, this role includes administrative duties such as conducting performance reviews alongside the District Manager, administering disciplinary actions when necessary, ordering and organizing supplies, and monitoring cash handling procedures. The General Manager is also responsible for scheduling, managing labor costs relative to business demands and crew availability, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety protocols.
