The company has built a strong reputation for quality, consistency, and creating memorable guest experiences through its portfolio of restaurants featuring a variety of dining concepts. As an industry leader, Goode Company fosters an inclusive culture that prizes ownership, accountability, and a dedication to excellence. Working at Goode Company means becoming part of a career path that values leadership, innovation, and continuous growth within a fast-paced and dynamic hospitality environment.
The role of General Manager at Goode Company Restaurants is more than just a position; it is a vital leadership career with substantial responsibility for operating one of Houston's most renowned hospitality brands. The General Manager acts as a key leader accountable for driving business success, ensuring operational excellence, and modeling the company’s values in every aspect of the restaurant’s operation. As a General Manager, you must lead with confidence, clarity, and integrity while creating a culture of ownership among your staff. You will manage all facets of daily operations from guest experience and service standards to financial performance and compliance with safety regulations.
You are the central figure who embodies Goode Company’s brand promise, leading multiple departments to deliver consistent, elevated experiences to guests. This includes managing food and beverage quality, maintaining rigorous operational standards, and developing and mentoring a high-performing team of managers and frontline staff. Your leadership will influence the entire restaurant ecosystem, fostering collaboration between departments and championing a culture where pride, professionalism, and accountability are at the forefront.
Moreover, the General Manager is responsible for full Profit and Loss (P&L) management, where you will use your financial acumen to forecast, budget, and strategize for sustained growth and profitability. Managing labor costs, inventory, and vendor relationships are critical parts of the operational efficiency you will drive. You will also ensure compliance with all health, safety, and workplace regulations, leading safety initiatives and maintaining standards that protect both employees and guests.
This position requires a seasoned hospitality professional with at least five years of recent General Manager experience in high-volume, full-service environments, ideally managing annual revenues exceeding $5 million. A bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered. Certifications in Food Safety Management, Alcohol Service (TABC), and allergen awareness are mandatory to ensure the highest operational standards.
At Goode Company, the role of General Manager is designed for leaders who thrive on challenges, embrace complexity, and excel in creating order and quality within fast-moving environments. You will be an inspiring leader capable of making decisive actions, navigating employee relations with professionalism, and maintaining an upbeat yet accountable workplace atmosphere. Becoming a General Manager here means taking ownership of a respected brand, leading your team towards operational brilliance, and making a lasting impact in Houston’s vibrant hospitality scene.
